Leading Decade for trainers Jamie Edwards and Bruce Elkington

Geelong training partnership Jamie Edwards and Bruce Elkington have taken out the Geelong trainers’ premiership for 2011. The prestigious James Wilson trophy award has been dominated by these 2 trainers dating back to 2001, where Bruce Elkington won his first James Wilson trophy and continued his fine form making it back to back wins the following year.
Edwards then took over the mantle winning the honour from 2003 – 2007. When both leading Geelong trainers became a partnership in 2008, the success continued for the following 4 years.
Edwards said that “He couldn’t be happier to win the award and that the success couldn’t have happened without the continued support and loyalty of all our owners.” “It is also a huge credit to all of our staff at Emsley Lodge and Lara Equine Centre for all their hard work and dedication”
Edwards Elkington Racing also had city class galloper De Arias nominated for horse of the year whilst they also had a host of other nominations for the most popular horse in the Geelong region.
